Fanø

On Fanø - the northernmost island in the magnificent waddensea - you come to enjoy the nature as well as the culture. The wide open spaces of the waddensea, the unspoilt nature and the bright light.

Drive from Nordby along the beach to Sønderho.
Journey back to Nordby goes through the State Plantation.
By the ferry back to Esbjerg.


Suggestions for walking tours:

- Town walk in Sønderho:
From the car-park opposite the church turn right. At the old diary turn right past the hotel. Immediately afterwards left past the inn to the belvedere, from where - when the weather is fine - you can see as far as to Ribe. Turn left and walk along the beach. Where the path ends, past the flood column to the left and right after turn right. In the cross at the end of the road turn right. Afterwards turn left back to the church.

- In the State Plantation (brochure available at the Tourist Office)
Different walking tours from 1-5,5 km (2-10 miles). E.g. the “Pælebjerg-Tour”, where you can enjoy the view from the top of the highest elevation of the island.
